Reporting: hard evidence

Hello all of you!

I've seen some players reporting abuse, this is a guide which may help you getting a better result!

Ingredients xD:

1 Camstudio or other screencam (download at http://camstudio.org/ it's free!)

5 minutes of time

1 cool head

Preparation:

1. Encountering the mischief

First of all, when you see a players abusing, stay calm! Do not let words get you, and keep following these steps.



See that? Stay calm, don't start to swear, just keep it cool.

2. Getting the evidence

2.1: Taking a screenshot.

This is for a report which is just a short moment and you don't need a lot of material to prove there was an offense. This could be used when a player is using offensive language or so. I don't advice this method, although it is the easiest way, we always keep in mind that the picture could have been edited.

Anyway, to make a screenshot, press the button in the client which says 'screenshot':


Select the file (located at the client folder


Copy the link and paste it in your post:


2.2 Making a vid!

This really depends from screencam to screencam so... I'll be using camstudio, as there is no small banner like in hypercam which annoys me :p.


Click fixed region

Click select region and drag your cursor over the screen to select the region.

Now press the record button, and you can start recording. To stop recording, press the stop button, or pause, if you would like to continue recording from at later point.


These are just only the basics of the screencam, it's easy to use so if
you wish to use a different video accelerator or wish to record sound,
mouse movements etc, you can find it all in the program :-).

After recording, the program will ask you where you wish to save the video!
If you wish to share it, I'd advice you to load it up to youtube and put the link here! If you would have problems doing so, just ask here :-).
